Stefanos Dedas shared his impressions after the tenth-round EuroLeague match against Virtus in Bologna.
The assistant coach of Fenerbahce took over as the head coach during the game after Dimitris Itoudis received two technical fouls in the middle of the third period, resulting in an automatic ejection. The Turkish team was eventually defeated with a score of 87:79, bringing their current record to 5-5.
“As a group, we reacted well after coach Dimitris Itoudis was ejected due to frustration with the refereeing decisions. Defensively, the last period was our best quarter. If you look at the statistics, you’ll understand. Even in moments when we played fantastic defense, we missed opportunities to score after offensive rebounds. If we had made some open shots, the outcome could have been different.”
“They hit crucial shots, combined with the mentioned rebounds, leading us to defeat. The positive aspect is the return of some of our injured players like Sertac Sanli. Marko Guduric and Nick Calathes are back as well. Even though we didn’t win, I believe we sent a good message to our organization and fans,” said Stefanos Dedas.
