Steve Kerr will remain at the helm of the Golden State Warriors for at least two more years as he has signed a new extremely lucrative contract.
This contract is worth a staggering $35 million. This means he will earn $17.5 million per season. Previously, he was fourth on the list, with the legendary Gregg Popovich leading with $16 million annually.
The American became the coach of the “Warriors” back in 2014. In his very first season, he became an NBA champion. Since then, he has won three more championship rings with the team from San Francisco.
It can be said that Steve Kerr has one of the best careers in the history of basketball. He was highly accomplished as a player. With the Chicago Bulls, he was part of the second three-peat (1996-1998). After that, he won two more titles with the San Antonio Spurs.
He was also the general manager of the Phoenix Suns from 2007 to 2010. He brought Shaquille O’Neal to the desert in 2008. Additionally, he can boast the Coach of the Year award he won in 2016. He is also included among the top 15 head coaches in NBA history.
