Studentski centar secured their fifth win of the season by defeating FMP in Zeleznik by 99:86 in the ninth round of the ABA League.
Podgorica’s team had a better start, taking a 10-3 lead. FMP responded with a good run, taking the lead at 11-10. Another series by the visitors put them in front 16-11. In the final moments of the first quarter, the team from Zeleznik caught up again, bringing the score to 16-16.
Nenad Stefanovic’s team had a strong start to the second quarter, leading 28-20. Away team managed to come back, narrowing the deficit with solid defense. In the closing moments of the first half, FMP played better, and the home team went into halftime with a lead of 44-41.
Studentski centar had a better start to the second half. Through excellent defense, they made a comeback and took the lead at 57-51. After a timeout by Stefanovic, the home team equalized. In the last two minutes of the third quarter, both teams were in great form. In the final moments of the third period, Nikola Pavlicevic hit a three-pointer, giving his team a three-point lead.
At the beginning of the final quarter, FMP played better, taking a four-point lead. The guests responded with good plays on both ends, taking a 93-82 lead. The home team tried to make a comeback but was unsuccessful, suffering a defeat.
Kenan Kamenjas led his team to victory with 22 points and 12 rebounds, while on the other side, Hugo Besson was the top scorer with 24 points.
FMP now has three wins and six losses and will face Partizan next. Studentski centar has recorded their fifth victory and will have a duel against Mega in the next game.
