Svetislav Pesic expressed his expectations ahead of the second-round game between Georgia and Serbia in Group G qualifiers for the EuroBasket.
The head coach of the Serbian national team anticipates a completely different game against Georgia compared to the one “The Eagles” played against Finland at the Aleksandar Nikolic Hall.
“Like every next game, it’s always different. And especially the game against Georgia will be entirely different because Georgia plays a completely different style of basketball than Finland. They are a team with good organization both defensively and offensively.
They led the entire game against Denmark and ended up losing due to some of their own wrong decisions. But for us, that means nothing because, as I said, every next game is different.”
Svetislav Pesic also emphasized how Georgia is welcoming Serbia with a new head coach.
“It’s a very experienced team, especially experienced in these qualifiers. They have had continuity for years; the only thing that happened recently is the change of a foreigner, and our Aleksandar Dzikic has come as the new coach.
Certainly, we will have to prepare for the game in a different way and adapt somehow. After all, it’s an away game, we have to be brave and, of course, with all due respect to Georgia, think about how we need to play both defensively and offensively.”
