Svetislav Pesic congratulated Nikola Jokic on winning the MVP award for the third time in the career of the Sombor native.
The head coach of the Serbian national team had nothing but praise for the popular “Joker”.
“First and foremost, congratulations to Nikola on winning the award and everything he has shown, not only this year but also during previous seasons. When someone wins the MVP award three times, it’s a clear confirmation that the player is currently the best of the best. This season, unlike previous ones, Nikola faced stiff competition from players in the guard positions. Despite that competition, he still won the award,” said Svetislav Pesic, adding:
“We are all proud of Nikola, not only because he has once again proven to be the best player of today, but also because of everything he represents. I am confident that this recognition motivates children in Serbia, Europe, and around the world to pursue basketball.”
Nikola Jokic is the first center in the last six decades to win the MVP title three times in four seasons. Before him, this feat was achieved by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
