Sylvain Francisco has signed a 1+1 deal with Zalgiris Kaunas, the Lithuanian club announced after one season in Munich.
The 26-year-old French point guard joined Bayern on a two-year deal last summer, but his contract included a buyout clause that Zalgiris paid to acquire him from the German club. Sylvain Francisco had an impressive debut season in the EuroLeague, averaging 10.6 points (43.1% on two-pointers, 35.4% on three-pointers), 1.7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in just 19 minutes per game.
Among EuroLeague players who played fewer than 20 minutes per game, Francisco ranked third in scoring, trailing only Johnathan Motley (11.8 PPG) and Willy Hernangomez (11.1 PPG).
Notably, Francisco had several standout performances, including a game-winning 20-point effort against Partizan and season-high 21-point games against Monaco and Fenerbahce.
In the Bundesliga, Francisco averaged 12.7 points (57.5% on two-pointers, 38.4% on three-pointers), 1.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game in 19 minutes of play.
“After one year at Bayern, Sylvain is moving on to Zalgiris for a transfer fee – thanks for everything and good luck in Lithuania, Frenchi!” – Bayern wrote on social media.
