T.J. Parker discussed Asvel’s poor start as well as rumors that Andrea Trinchieri could soon take his place.
The French EuroLeague team finds itself in a very challenging situation. They lost their first two EuroLeague games to Crvena Zvezda and Partizan. They also suffered some shocking losses in the French league, but Parker still sees some positive aspects.
“I wouldn’t say that because there was still some positivity tonight in terms of intensity. It was there, but we have to bring it more often, consistently throughout the game. We must not look down but up. Every game is important,” began the brother of the legendary Tony Parker.
When any team is in a losing streak, fingers are often pointed at the coach. This is the case with the 39-year-old expert from Paris, but he doesn’t shy away from that responsibility.
“We are a team, we are together. Of course, I take part of the responsibility for what is happening to us because I am the coach. We have to help the players be better, to better express their potential. It’s hard to endure these losses. But they are still good, practicing well. And they are trying to bring it back to the court every night.”
Finally, Parker talked about his situation. There have been rumors that Andrea Trinchieri could replace him on the Asvel bench. The coach from Valence didn’t want to comment on this.
“I don’t want to talk about my personal situation. I am focusing on the next game. After that, whatever happens, will happen,” T.J. Parker concluded.
