Renowned NBA player Terrence Ross has decided to retire after spending 11 years in the world’s best basketball league.
While there were speculations that Terence Ross might continue his career in Europe, he even confirmed live on the Twitch platform that he received an offer from Partizan. However, the veteran has chosen to hang up his sneakers.
“If there is an opportunity to return to Serbia with my family and live there for a certain period, that is something I would definitely consider because it has tremendous sentimental value. If I were to play outside the US, that’s the only option,” said the NBA veteran, who became a free agent after the conclusion of the 2022/2023 season with the Phoenix Suns.
On December 1st, the 32-year-old basketball player announced his retirement from the sport.
“I think now, especially since some time has passed, I’m done,” he said on his podcast. “I’m starting to realize how much I love being at home and simply playing the role of a father, being a part of my family.”
Ross played for the Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic, and Phoenix Suns during his NBA career. In 733 games, he averaged 11 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.8 three-pointers per game.
“Watching these games, instead of thinking, ‘God, I really miss being on the court,’ the first thing that came to my mind was, ‘okay, Boston is playing against New York,'” Ross admitted.
After announcing his retirement, the veteran made an appearance at the game between Washington and Orlando on Friday and received a warm applause from the fans.
Ross was the Toronto Raptors’ first-round pick in the 2012 NBA draft, selected as the eighth overall pick. While with the Raptors, he recorded a career-high 51 points against the Clippers in 2014—equaling the franchise record for the most points scored in a single game, previously held by Vince Carter.
