Partizan convincingly defeated Asvel on the road by 88:62 in the EuroLeague’s second round, which opened tonight.
Asvel was missing David Lighty in this match, who suffered a chest injury and will return to the court soon. Partizan was without Ognjen Jaramaz, as the black and white team’s guard did not feel well just before the game.
The opening minutes belonged to the visitors, who capitalized on their opponent’s somewhat disorganized defense. Partizan, under the leadership of Zach LeDay, extended their lead to double digits relatively quickly. By the time of the halftime break, after a well-executed play from a timeout, Partizan was leading 43:29.
The black and white team didn’t let up even after a well-played first 20 minutes. In the second half, they intensified their efforts, and their lead continued to grow, reaching as much as a 30-point advantage at one point, making the game resemble an exhibition. The fourth quarter continued at a high pace, and in the end, Partizan secured an easy victory.
The most efficient players for the visitors were James Nunnally with 17 points, and Zach LeDay contributed 13 points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal, and two blocks. Frank Jackson led the opposition with 16 points.
In the next round, Asvel will visit Efes, while black and whites will host Barcelona.
