The Indiana Pacers convincingly defeated the New York Knicks at home by 121:89 in Game 4 of the NBA Western Conference semifinals.
The New York Knicks had significant injury problems heading into this game. Head coach Tom Thibodeau couldn’t count on Mitchell Robinson, OG Anunoby, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Julius Randle, while Jalen Brunson played with an injury.
The Indiana Pacers did most of the work right from the start of the game. They had a 23-point lead (34:11) in the first quarter , indicating that the Knicks wouldn’t stand a chance. By halftime, that lead had grown even more, with the Pacers going into the break with a huge 69:41 advantage.
In the second half, we saw the same picture. The Pacers continued to dominate the Knicks, and in the third quarter, they led 101:63. An incredible statistic from the game is that the visitors made their fourth three-pointer out of 30 attempts only three minutes into the final period. It’s clear that the Knicks had no chance of a comeback, and the Pacers secured their second win in this series.
The top scorer for the winning team was Tyrese Haliburton with 20 points, six assists, and five rebounds. T.J. McConnell scored 15 points with 10 assists. Pascal Siakam and Obi Toppin also had a solid game, each scoring 14 points. While in the losing team, Alec Burks led with 20 points. Jalen Brunson scored 18 points but with a fairly poor shooting percentage (6/17).
The series is now tied 2-2 after the New York Knicks won the first two games at Madison Square Garden, and their opponent also defended their home court twice. The next game is scheduled for Wednesday morning at 2:00 AM.
