Besiktas president Hasan Arat has stated that additional funds, instead of going to the basketball section, will be redirected to the football club, as reported by Basketnews.
During his candidacy for the leadership of the Istanbul-based black and whites, Arat promised to increase the budget for the Besiktas Basketball Club, coached by Dusan Alimpijevic, to enhance their chances of reaching the EuroLeague.
However, once the candidacy ended and he became the head of Besiktas, the story changed. The football club, currently fifth in the Turkish Super League, will receive additional financial benefits.
Arat discussed all of this on the TRT Sport show, where he also addressed the merger with Bahcesehir.
