The Ukrainian Prometey will not participate in any European competitions next season, the club has decided.
Despite having a good season this year, especially in the EuroCup where they reached the quarterfinals but were defeated by eventual finalist Bourg 95:82, it has been decided that due to the war in Ukraine, they are unable to financially sustain European obligations
In 2022, Prometey relocated to Riga, where they competed for the past two seasons, winning the Latvian-Estonian league twice in a row. Last season, they achieved an even better result in the EuroCup, reaching the semifinals.
All players who competed for this team are available, as well as head coach Ronen Ginzburg, who has already found a job in Japan.
However, Prometey will retain its Ukrainian team and participate in the Ukrainian championship next season.
