Tom Thibodeau, coach of the New York Knicks, spoke to the media after his team’s loss to the Philadelphia 76ers in the third game of the NBA Eastern Conference quarterfinals series.
After the second win of the New York Knicks at home, the Philadelphia 76ers blamed the referees for that loss. Now, after the Knicks’ defeat, coach Tom Thibodeau addressed the media with a message for the referees.
“Jalen Brunson ended up with 12 free throws right? And a lot of those came at the end. And so, I’ll look at it again, I’ll send my clips in like I do every game, and then they’ll say ‘marginal contact.’ And then we’ll have marginal contact on Embiid, and he’ll be at the line 21 times,” said Tom Thibodeau.
Joel Embiid played a fantastic game with 50 points, but he also made unsportsmanlike move against Mitchell Robinson, the center of the home team, during that game. When asked about that move, Thibodeau clearly stated that Embiid should have received a second flagrant foul as well.
“Which one? The one they called, or the one they didn’t call? Just want to make sure we have clarity on that.”
The fourth game of the Eastern Conference NBA quarterfinal series will take place on Sunday at 7:00 PM.
