Tomas Satoransky, Barcelona’s point guard, spoke after the win over Olympiacos in the third game of the EuroLeague quarterfinals.
The Czech player had a crucial role in the win against the Piraeus team. He scored 13 points, dished out five assists, and grabbed four rebounds. His efficiency index rating was 20. He emphasized the team’s mental preparedness as the key to win.
“It’s obvious the job isn’t done. It was important to win here so we could close out the series, but in games like these, you never know. The most important thing was to stay mentally in the game. There were a lot of ups and downs, we felt like we had lost. However, we found a way to reach the next big moment, and that’s crucial against Olympiacos – to stay mentally strong,” Tomas Satoransky told “Eurohoops” at the beginning.
The former NBA player remembers one particular moment well. Georgios Printezis hit a three-pointer for the win in the fourth game of the quarterfinals in 2015, ultimately sending the Reds to the Final Four. The Barcelona point guard talked about it, but for him, it’s now a distant past.
“I remember Georgios Printezis’s shot well, but that was a long time ago now. I know what it’s like to be in this arena, what kind of pressure it creates. That helped me to stay in the game and to be solid, both offensively and defensively,” concluded Satoransky.
