Tony Parker, president of Asvel and a legend of French basketball, spoke to the media about the recent criticisms directed towards him.
Tony Parker unleashed criticism against Italian coach Gianmarco Pozzecco following his dismissal as the head coach of Asvel.
“I don’t care about what people say. Look at what we’ve achieved here in the last 10 years. Trophies, championships, EuroLeague A license, academy, new arena (LDLC Arena)… We’ve fulfilled all our promises so far. Regarding Gianmarco Pozzecco, many people supported me after my statements. To be honest, I didn’t say enough that day. Kobe Bryant once said, ‘haters only attack people who are doing great things.’ I take the criticisms about me as compliments.”
Asvel is currently in second-to-last position in the EuroLeague with a record of 7-24, while in the LNB Pro A league, they are tied for second place with a record of 19-7.
