Tornike Shengelia has been named the MVP of the sixth round of the EuroLeague. This recognition comes after his outstanding performance against Anadolu Efes.
The Georgian player has been playing fantastically this season, and this game was no exception. He scored 19 points, grabbed five rebounds, and dished out six assists in this match. Interestingly, he drew 12 fouls during the game. Shengelia finished with an efficiency rating of 30.
The former player of CSKA and Baskonia was also named MVP in the third round of the EuroLeague. This achievement puts him on par with Vassilis Spanoulis, Ioannis Bourousis, and Luka Doncic, all of whom have eight MVP awards. The all-time record holder is Nando De Colo with 16 of these accolades.
Tornike Shengelia was named the MVP for the month of October. He received the award from Mr. Massimo Zanetti, the owner of Virtus, during a ceremony. Shengelia has been exceptional, averaging 18.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in the EuroLeague.
Virtus is benefiting greatly from Shengelia’s outstanding season. They have only suffered one loss in the EuroLeague, and they currently sit at the top of the Italian league’s table. They’ve also won the Italian Super Cup. The team coached by Luca Banchi will face the top-ranked Real Madrid in the next round.
