Tornike Shengelia has been named the Most Valuable Player of the third round of the EuroLeague with a total performance index rating (PIR) of 32.
The Georgian international was by far the most efficient player in Virtus’ victory over Alba (87:76) with 26 points, four rebounds, and three assists. It’s worth mentioning that Tornike Shengelia finished the game without a single turnover and only missed two field goals out of 11 attempts.
Shengelia has spent 11 seasons in the EuroLeague, played 225 games, and his scoring performance against the team from Berlin was the third-best in his career. This was his seventh MVP award in his career for the Georgian national team player.
Behind Shengelia, there were players from Real Madrid, Vincent Poirier and Facundo Campazzo, with performance index ratings (PIR) of 29 and 28, respectively.
The Frenchman scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds in Real Madrid’s victory over Zalgiris, while the Argentine contributed 18 points, four rebounds, and nine assists.
The third most efficient player was Nando De Colo with a performance index rating of 27, even though his team suffered a loss to Virtus in Bologna.
