Toronto Raptors outplayed the Washington Wizards 111-107 in the NBA league game played on the night between Monday and Tuesday.
The team of Serbian coach Darko Rajakovic once again, as was the case against the San Antonio Spurs, found themselves trailing by more than 20 points. This time, it was a 23-point deficit for the visitors from Washington, who achieved this lead not in the early stages of the game but at the beginning of the third quarter.
At that point, the scoreboard showed 71-48 in favor of the visiting team, and few believed that the outcome could be different from a victory for the Washington Wizards.
Toronto Raptors, led by Pascal Siakam, made a strong comeback. With the help of his teammates, Siakam led the Canadian team and contributed to Rajakovic’s team reducing the deficit to just minus 10 entering the fourth quarter.
Despite that, the Washington Wizards initially resisted all efforts of the opponent to get closer, keeping a double-digit lead until five minutes before the end… It wasn’t enough. Scottie Barnes took responsibility and initiated a new series, 16-0, with which the host concluded the game and celebrated in a dramatic finish.
The top scorer for the winners was Siakam with 39 points and an excellent shooting percentage of 15/23. In addition to that, he added 11 rebounds and seven assists. This is the same Siakam who was rumored to leave Canada via trade this summer. Barnes followed with a diverse performance, contributing 19 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and five steals.
On the other side, Kyle Kuzma stood out with 34 points.
Toronto Raptors now have a record of 5-5, while the opponent is at 2-8.
