Dejounte Murray’s recent social media activity has set tongues wagging among NBA fans, especially in light of fresh trade rumors swirling around the Atlanta Hawks and Los Angeles Lakers.
Reports from The Athletic’s Shams Charania indicate that the Hawks are contemplating making Dejounte Murray available in trade discussions this offseason. This development doesn’t come out of the blue, as speculation about restructuring their star-studded backcourt has been rife for some time now. Charania’s report even mentions renewed interest from the Lakers, who previously engaged in talks with the Hawks before the February trade deadline.
During an appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show” on June 21, Charania hinted at the Lakers’ ongoing interest in Murray, suggesting his name could surface in trade talks again in the coming days.
“One name that they did pursue last season at the trade deadline that I think teams around the league expect to come up again in trade conversations over the next week or so and make sense for the Lakers is Dejounte Murray with the Hawks. The Lakers have maintained a level of interest in Dejounte Murray over the last several months,” Charania said.
Murray himself added fuel to the fire with a cryptic social media post featuring a series of eye emojis, which he swiftly deleted. This subtle action didn’t go unnoticed by eagle-eyed fans, intensifying speculation about his future amid the swirling trade rumors.
