Tristan Vukcevic openly spoke to “Mundo Deportivo” about his time at Partizan and with the Washington Wizards.
The young Serbian player moved to the U.S. capital, where he has been performing well with decent playing time. This is a complete opposite of his tenure at Partizan. While he showcased flashes of his talent at times, ultimately it wasn’t what he expected, as he himself acknowledges.
“It was my decision; I didn’t like it at Partizan. I spent two very tough years there. When the opportunity arose, I said, ‘I don’t care, I’ll pay and that’s it.’ Many things happened; I don’t want to go into too many details. But I didn’t play much, and that’s why I didn’t feel comfortable,” Tristan Vukcevic began.
But, he had positive words about Zeljko Obradovic:
“He helped me a lot, and I always speak highly of him. I was 18 years old when I arrived, and having the opportunity to see basketball elsewhere really helped me, I can say that.“
He has adapted well in Washington, and it seems like he enjoys playing there and is thinking short-term about his NBA dream:
“The team, coach, and people from the Wizards are helping me a lot. They welcomed me with open arms. I feel very good; I have the freedom to play my game and show what I can do. We haven’t talked yet; I want to finish the season well; we have three games left. When I finish, I’ll see with the team what our plans are. I’m not thinking about it right now; I want to play and enjoy my game, that’s all.”
