Turk Telekom, Ulm, and Venezia secured wins in the 18th round of the EuroCup, marking the conclusion of the first phase.
The most exciting game unfolded in France, where Ulm triumphed over Bourg by 85:81, following an excellent start to the game.
Ulm took control in the opening 10 minutes, leading 27:17 and setting the tone for the rest of the game. Towards the end, the hosts could only mitigate the defeat, which didn’t jeopardize their first position in Group B, given their superior head-to-head record against Cluj-Napoca, a team that could have tied with Bourg for the top spot with a win.
Trevion Williams and Pacome Dadiet led the winners with 17 and 15 points respectively, while Zacharie Risacher paced the home team with 20 points.
Turk Telekom outplayed Slask by 86:70, delivering a stellar performance in the second and fourth quarters. The game started off with both teams efficiently scoring, leading to a close first quarter ending with a 27:26 advantage for the visiting Turkish team.
As Turk Telekom found their rhythm, they excelled even further in the next period, outscoring their opponents 23:14, thus establishing a 10-point lead. They then sealed the win with an exceptional finish.
James Palmer stood out for the Turkish team with 22 points, closely followed by Tyrone Wallace with 17 points. On the other side, Dusan Miletic led Slask with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Turk Telekom has now positioned themselves well and simultaneously eliminated Buducnost with this win. However, their place in the next phase is not yet secure. If Trento defeats Aris tomorrow and Buducnost loses to Gran Canaria, a tiebreaker would occur among Trento, Aris, and Turk Telekom, potentially leaving the Turkish team in seventh place and out of the next phase.
In the remaining game of the evening, Venezia defeated Hamburg 90:83 in a game without significant implications for the standings.
