Tyrique Jones has officially departed from Anadolu Efes after spending one season with the team from Turkey.
According to BasketNews’ Donatas Urbonas, Tyrique Jones is expected to join Partizan. He is expected to be a great help to the team, whose coach is the most decorated European expert of all time, Zeljko Obradovic. Moreover, with Alen Smailagic’s departure to Kaunas and the uncertain situation with Bruno Caboclo, the only center currently in Partizan is Balsa Koprivica.
The 27-year-old American had one year left on his contract with Anadolu Efes, signed last summer, but both parties mutually agreed to terminate the deal.
Jones made his EuroLeague debut this past season, averaging 7.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and a 9.5 PIR over 34 games, including 8 starts. He demonstrated efficient shooting, hitting 63.4% of his two-point attempts.
In the Turkish Super League, he added 11.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, and a 14.9 PIR in 15 domestic games.
Tyrique Jones joined Anadolu Efes after an MVP season with Turk Telekom in 2022-23, where he averaged 14.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and a PIR of 21.4.
