UNICS took a 1-0 lead in the semifinal series by defeating Lokomotiv Kuban 78:75 at home in the VTB League.
Despite recent speculation that he will strengthen Milano, the home team’s point guard Nenad Dimitrijevic was effective in his team’s win, despite poor shooting percentages.
The Macedonian international finished the game with 16 points, but he was only accurate from the field four out of 19 times (3/10 for two, 1/9 for three), making this performance his worst of the season.
Nevertheless, it can’t be said that he disappointed, as he was excellent in the final moments. He entered a scoring streak and later confirmed the series lead from the free-throw line.
More upbeat than him was Erick Green with 19 points, while on the other side, Okaro White stood out with 15 points.
The semifinal series is played to four wins, and the next clash is scheduled for Wednesday at 6 p.m. UNICS will again host, followed by two games at Lokomotiv Kuban.
In the second semifinal, Zenit and CSKA are facing off (0-1).
