Valencia secured a win against Alba Berlin by 81:66 in the EuroLeague Round 25.
The game in Berlin started off excellently for Valencia, led by Semi Ojeleye and Chris Jones, quickly establishing a double-digit lead of 14:3. Alba Berlin managed to narrow the gap with a 7:0 run, and their good performance continued until the end of the first quarter, where they trailed by only five points – 20:15.
Valencia regained a double-digit lead in the middle of the second quarter with an 8:0 run, signaling their dominance (33-22). Matt Thoms orchestrated an 8:0 run on his own, but Valencia finished the first half strong with eight consecutive points on the other end – 42:30.
Jones and Ojeleye continued their unstoppable performance in the third quarter, resulting in a 20-point lead for Valencia (57-37). The German team couldn’t muster the strength to make a comeback, and Valencia entered the last 10 minutes with a 21-point lead (65:45).
The remainder of the game saw a more relaxed play on both ends of the court, as Valencia had already secured the victory. The final score confirmed Valencia’s win by 81:66.
Matt Thomas was the top scorer for Alba Berlin with 15 points, while Semi Ojeleye stood out for Valencia with 18 points.
With a performance of five wins and 20 losses, Alba Berlin remains in 17th place, while Valencia has climbed to the ninth position on the table with a record of 13-12.
In the upcoming round, Valencia will host Olympiacos, while Alba Berlin will be on the road against Barcelona.
