Valencia is set to play a EuroLeague game against Maccabi Tel Aviv as part of the third round, but under extremely unusual circumstances.
The “Pride of Israel” has played only one EuroLeague game due to the ongoing conflict, and today’s match against Valencia is their second.
The game is labeled as “high-risk,” and as a result, it will be secured by a presence of up to 700 police officers.
Maccabi Tel Aviv is expected to take the field wearing black jerseys as a sign of mourning for all the victims of the war.
“We have organized a comprehensive operation with over 700 police personnel, both in uniform and plainclothes. Additionally, we kindly request fans to be more patient as security checks will be more thorough this time,” said the statement from the Valencia city authorities.
Valencia will play their game against the “Pride of Israel” at 8:30 PM.
According to the latest information, Maccabi Tel Aviv will be hosting European matches in Cyprus (the bubble) starting from November.
