Victor Wembanyama, the young center for the San Antonio Spurs, spoke after last night’s loss to the Toronto Raptors.
Despite the lost game in which the Spurs had a lead of as much as 22 points, the young Frenchman made a positive impression. He finished the game with 20 points, nine rebounds, five blocks, four assists, and one steal.
The popular “Wemby” emphasizes that playing under Gregg Popovich in the NBA is challenging because the “Crazy Serbian” demands concentration throughout the entire game.
“Even when you relax for a few seconds, it’s too much. We will watch the tapes and improve as a team. Every game is challenging. I need to prove some things to my teammates and the coach. Sometimes, I want to do the dirty work and give one hundred percent of my abilities,” said Victor Wembanyama.
