Victor Wembanyama, player of the San Antonio Spurs, has been nominated for two individual awards after a brilliant rookie season.
Wembanyama has been nominated for NBA Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year. The French center had a great season, averaging 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists.
In addition, Wembanyama led the entire league in blocked shots. The San Antonio Spurs center averages 3.6 blocks, with the next closest being Walker Kessler with 2.5. Alongside him, Bam Adebayo and Rudy Gobert are also nominated for the Defensive Player of the Year award.
As for the second award, besides Victor Wembanyama, Chet Holmgren and Brandon Miller are also nominated.
