Victor Wembanyama put on a performance against the Los Angeles Lakers that is rarely seen, once again showcasing his talent.
Despite the San Antonio Spurs losing to the Lakers (123:118), the towering Frenchman stole the spotlight. The first pick in last year’s NBA draft had what’s known as a 5×5 game. That means he recorded five or more points, assists, rebounds, steals, and blocks.
What makes this statistical feat even more impressive are two facts. First, he is the youngest player ever to accomplish this feat, and second, he did it in just 30 minutes and 55 seconds. No one has done it faster than him.
Victor Wembanyama finished the game with 27 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, five blocks, and the same number of steals. His performance was commented on by LeBron James, who scored 30 points in the same game.
“He has no ceiling. He can do whatever he wants in his career, and he seems to enjoy the game. It also seems like he works a lot on himself. I’ve said it before how special he is, and that’s just a simple fact.”
