The game was practically decided in the third quarter. With excellent play on both ends of the court, Asvel at one point had an 18-point lead (72:54). The resilient Zalgiris didn’t give up and tried to make a comeback. However, they only managed to mitigate the defeat and reduce the gap. They didn’t have the strength to make the end of the game more interesting.
Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot led his team to success with 27 points. On the other side, Keenan Evans was the top scorer with 21 points.
This is Asvel’s first home win and their third overall. Their next opponent will be Crvena Zvezda. Zalgiris suffered their 13th loss of the season, and their next match is against Valencia.
