The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Washington Wizards 130-121, securing their third consecutive win in the new NBA season.
The home team managed to find their desired rhythm after two initial season losses to Charlotte and New York. Following their wins against Milwaukee and Minnesota, they added a win against Washington. Serbian national team representative Bogdan Bogdanovic played a part in their winning streak with 12 points and three rebounds.
Serbian basketball player delivered a solid performance and finished the game with double-digit points for the third time this season. The area in which Bogdanovic could have contributed more was the three-point shooting, as he made only one out of five attempts. However, that one successful shot marked his 900th career three-pointer, with 473 of them made while wearing the Atlanta jersey.
A double-digit lead by the Wizards in the middle of the second quarter seemed to ignite the Atlanta players, who quickly responded, orchestrated a turnaround, and then established a substantial lead they maintained, securing their third consecutive victory with a final score of 130-121.
Inspired by the Serbian representative, Bogdanovic, Dejounte Murray also contributed with 24 points, while De’Andre Hunter and Trae Young both scored 23 points. On the visitors’ side, the top scorer was Kyle Kuzma with 25 points, receiving significant support from Deni Avdija with 22 points.
With three consecutive wins, Atlanta is heading into a series of three away games, with the first one against the New Orleans Pelicans in three days. Meanwhile, Washington remains with only one win, achieved in the second game against Memphis.
