Joel Embiid had a conversation with Nikola Jokic after the game between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Denver Nuggets, speaking highly of the Serbian player.
The team from the “City of Brotherly Love” emerged victorious with a score of 126:121 after an incredible comeback in the final quarter. Once again, the main contenders for the MVP award did not disappoint. The Cameroonian center scored 41 points with 10 assists and seven rebounds. On the other side, Nikola Jokic concluded the game with 25 points, 19 rebounds, and three assists.
“I let things and the game flow naturally. It’s all thanks to the guys on the team who put me in the best possible positions on the court to score. They believe in me, and that’s the key to everything. I couldn’t do any of this if they didn’t believe in me,” said Joel Embiid. He then revealed what he discussed with Jokic after the game:
“What did I tell him? Simply that he is the best player in the NBA. As I mentioned before, he won the championship with them, they are the best team in the league, and he was the MVP of the finals. I told him to keep it up, see you in two weeks. And I said, keep doing what you’re doing, that’s why you’re the best in the league.”
