Vincent Poirier, in a conversation with Eurohoops, emphasized his belief that Real Madrid would have defeated Partizan even without the brawl in the Wizink Center.
The French basketball player believes that the ‘Royal’ club is such that win is always trusted, and there would have been a comeback in the series no matter what.
“I always believe in the team. Even without that foul and everything that happened, I think we would have handled the situation. We are Real Madrid, and we always believe in victory, even at 0-2. I think we would have turned it around anyway,” said Vincent Poirier. He then commented on the fact that the champion at the end of the regular season has not lifted the EuroLeague trophy yet (in the new format):
“If someone can break that tradition, it’s Real Madrid. Let’s show everyone that we can finish first and then win the trophy at the EuroLeague Final Four,” confidently concluded the Frenchman.
Real Madrid will host Bayern in the 14th round of the EuroLeague, providing an opportunity for Chus Mateo’s team to secure their 13th win of the current season.
