Vladimir Stimac has spoken out regarding the situation with Borisa Simanic and has offered full support to the Serbian national team player and Zaragoza basketball player.
Borisa Simanic is recovering from surgery in which one of his kidneys was removed. As a reminder, the Serbian national team player suffered an injury during the third-round match of Group B at the FIBA World Cup against South Sudan.
During the match against Noni Omot, Simanic took a blow, which led to complications, ultimately resulting in the removal of one of his kidneys. He is currently in recovery from the surgery.
In response to the entire situation, Vladimir Stimac also voiced his thoughts and sent a message of support to Simanic through his Twitter account.
“Borisa Simanic literally gave a kidney for Serbia. I hope that the country and the federation will forever appreciate it. Boriša is in his prime basketball years, and for this to happen! I am very saddened and sorry; I know the guy and how good of a person he is. Stay strong, Borisa, I’m with you,” Stimac conveyed.
The health condition of Simanic was also discussed by the doctor of the Serbian national team, Dragan Radovanovic.
“Due to complications that occurred on the injured kidney during the postoperative course, Borisa Simanic underwent another surgery on September 3rd. Because of changes in the vitality of kidney tissue, the entire kidney had to be removed during the surgical procedure. We expect and hope that the postoperative course proceeds smoothly after this surgical intervention,” stated the doctor of the Serbian national team for the Serbian Basketball Federation (KSS).
