Wade Baldwin was named the MVP of the EuroLeague 30th round after an outstanding performance against Asvel, marking his third such recognition this season.
Against the French club, he recorded an index rating of 46, tallying 30 points and 11 assists in Maccabi Tel Aviv’s 98-90 win. With the win, Maccabi jumped from ninth to seventh place over Tuesday losers Virtus and Baskonia.
Behind him in the performance index for this round were French centers Youssopha Fall with a rating of 31 and Mathias Lessort with a rating of 30.
This marks the third time this season that Wade Baldwin has received this accolade. The first was in the 20th round, followed by the 24th. Only he, the aforementioned Lessort, and Shane Larkin have been named the best players of a EuroLeague round three times this season.
It’s also the second consecutive time that a player from Maccabi Tel Aviv has been named the round’s MVP, with Josh Nebo receiving the honor in the previous round. Overall, this is the sixth time this season that a Maccabi Tel Aviv player has received this recognition (twice for Nebo, three times for Baldwin, and once for Bonzie Colson).
