Miami Heat, playing without Jimmy Butler and Caleb Martin, suffered a defeat against the Minnesota Timberwolves with a score of 106-90.
Miami had a great first quarter with strong performances from Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro, giving them a lead after the first 12 minutes in Minneapolis (31-26). Naz Reid proved to be a challenge for the visitors during the second quarter, leading his team to a comeback before halftime – 55-53.
The critical advantage was gained by Minnesota towards the end of the third quarter, where they went up by seven points (90-73). Herro brought his team back into a good position at the start of the fourth quarter, but then came a 19-1 run, sealing the win for the Timberwolves. The best Miami could do was to narrow down the margin, but the game could have easily ended with a lead of over 20 points for the Timberwolves.
Naz Reid was the top scorer for Minnesota with 25 points, while Tyler Herro stood out for Miami with 22 points. It’s worth noting that Nikola Jovic was a starter and finished the game with eight points, 11 rebounds, and four assists.
Miami Heat remains 11th in the Eastern Conference with a record of 1-2, while Minnesota holds the same position in the Western Conference with a record of one win and one loss.
Zach LaVine had an outstanding performance in Chicago’s loss to Detroit (118-102), scoring an impressive 51 points. The Bulls superstar made 19 out of 33 field goals, signaling his role as the leader in Chicago’s quest for a playoff spot this season. DeMar DeRozan also had a good game with 20 points, but it wasn’t enough for the win.
On the Pistons’ side, we saw a dominant performance by Cade Cunningham with 25 points and 10 assists and Jalen Duren with 23 points and 15 rebounds. Nikola Vucevic didn’t have a great night, scoring only 12 points with four rebounds and an assist.
Detroit secured its second win of the NBA season (2-1), while Chicago recorded its second loss (1-2).
