The Washington Wizards haven’t performed exceptionally well this season in the NBA, and now they have decided to make changes in both the coaching staff and the management of the team, by dismissing Wes Unseld.
Wes Unseld Jr. had been serving as the head coach in the earlier part of the season, and the club’s leadership has decided to involve him in the management of the team.
In his place as the head coach, Brian Keefe will take over, who was one of Unseld’s assistants. Keefe will assume the role of head coach until the end of the season, after which the Wizards will reportedly seek a new coach, as reported by Adrian Wojnarowski.
Washington Wizards have won only once in their last 13 games in the most prestigious basketball league in the world. Currently, they hold a record of 7-33, and the only team with a worse record in the Eastern Conference is the Detroit Pistons.
The standout players for the team are Jordan Poole and Kyle Kuzma, but it is quite evident now that building a more serious future for the franchise cannot be based on players who had supporting roles in their previous teams. Consequently, it is expected that significant changes in the player roster will be made during the summer.
