After 12 years, Will Barton has left the NBA and signed a contract with CSKA Moscow.
Will Barton has played in his career for the Portland Trail Blazers, Denver Nuggets, Washington Wizards, and Toronto Raptors. He played his best games in his career as a player for the Denver Nuggets, and his performances with the Wizards and Raptors hinted that his NBA journey was approaching its conclusion.
CSKA is currently first in the VTB League with a record of 22 wins and 3 losses.
The coach of the club from Moscow, Emil Rajkovic, believes that Barton will fit well into CSKA’s system.
,,Will is a well-known player with a big experience of playing in the NBA. He will need to prepare himself for European basketball and he will need a little time to adjust to it. I hope this break in February will give us enough time to incorporate him into our team and our system. We hope he will help us achieve our goals this season.”
Will Barton has also shared his first impressions.
,,First and foremost, I’m grateful for this opportunity to play for this team. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the club and the fans. I’m excited to meet my teammates, my coaches, the fans, the organization, & the great people of Moscow. I’m ready to put the time and effort in to compete and win at a high level. Can’t wait to get there and get started.”
