Yago dos Santos, the point guard of Crvena Zvezda, spoke to “Sport Klub” about his experience in Europe and who his role model is in the red and white team.
The Brazilian started by talking about life in Europe. Last year he was in Germany, and now he’s in a much larger city, and he highlighted the biggest differences.
“Last year, I lived in a small town (Ulm). It was good for me because it was my first time in Europe. Now I’m living in a big city. The biggest difference is in the people and the language. Life is different here, but I like it,” began the diminutive point guard.
Before dos Santos came to Zvezda, he repeatedly mentioned that Milos Teodosic is his role model, and it now seems that he doesn’t separate from him.
“I watch everything he does, on the court, in the locker room, on the bus. They always ask him for photos and autographs. He’s my favorite player, and now we’re together every day, it’s crazy! I watched him on TV when the Olympic Games were in Rio de Janeiro, and now he’s my teammate, and we share the locker room.”
“It’s all new to me…”
In the end, the diminutive player talked about how he can help Dusko Ivanovic’s team the most, and he emphasized that the coach has a lot of faith in him.
“It’s all new to me… This is a higher level of play, basketball, and a new coach. We talk every day, and he tells me to play my style of the game and to bring results with energy and team play. Every day I’m happy and satisfied, and I constantly talk to the guys not only about basketball but also about family and life. I think that this kind of energy is very important for the team,” concluded Yago dos Santos.
