Brazilian basketball player Yago dos Santos has arrived in Belgrade, where he will join his teammates at Crvena Zvezda after undergoing medical examinations.
The diminutive playmaker was one of the standout players for Brazil in the previous FIBA World Cup. He averaged 14.8 points, 7.2 assists, and 3 rebounds per game.
“Hello, I’m very happy to be here, a new experience for me and my family, let’s get to work,” said the Brazilian to the Zvezda fans upon his arrival.
In the previous season, Yago had the best year of his professional career. Ulm won the Bundesliga title for the first time in history, defeating teams like Alba, Bayern, and the FIBA Basketball Champions League winner, Bonn, along the way.
Yago dos Santos will join the Crvena zvezda team, which has returned from a tournament in Italy, and next weekend, the Serbian champions will travel to Munich for further preparations ahead of the season.
As for the other reinforcements, the first to arrive was Dejan Davidovac, returning to the team from CSKA. Then, the red and white jerseys were worn by Marko Simonovic after his NBA stint, and the already mentioned Milos Teodosic. The market activity continued as Adam Hanga, Mike Tobey, and Joel Bolomboy also signed with the Crvena zvezda.
Soon after, Dusko Ivanovic secured the most notable additions in the form of Shabazz Napier and Rokas Giedraitis. There is now speculation about a potential signing of Nemanja Bjelica, who has joined the training sessions of the Crvena zvezda team.
