Yoan Makoundou is no longer a player for Monaco. The Frenchman has changed teams and will be wearing the jersey of Buducnost in the upcoming season.
Buducnost is making serious efforts to strengthen its team ahead of the season’s start. After Brandon Paul arrived in Podgorica a few days ago, the Montenegrin champions have added another basketball player.
That player is Yoan Makoundou, who has worn Monaco’s jersey for the past two seasons, helping them become French champions. He was also part of the team that secured third place in the EuroLeague.
Makoundou plays as a power forward and center. He began his career with Cholet. In the 2020/21 season, he was named the best young player in the FIBA Champions League. Such performances were an excellent recommendation for the Frenchman.
He had the opportunity to play in the EuroLeague with Monaco. His playing time was limited due to strong competition. In search of a different role and more minutes on the court, he has joined the ranks of the Montenegrin champions.
During the summer, Budućnost has brought in several basketball players. McKinley Wright, Andrija Slavkovic, Andrija Grbovic, Vladimir Mihailovic, Colbey Ross, JaCorey Williams, Marvin Jones, Brandon Paul, Fletcher Magee and Allerik Freeman have all arrived in Podgorica.
It’s worth noting that Freeman suffered an injury, while Cameron Reynolds left Buducnost.
