Yoan Makoundou will become a new basketball player for Podgorica’s Buducnost, according to “Vijesti“.
The young French basketball player played for the Monaco team last season, which is coached by Sasa Obradovic.
The team from Podgorica has been searching for a power forward for a while. In the end, the choice was made for the 23-year-old French national team player. Born in 2000, he joined the Cholet academy at the age of 16 and played for the first team from 2020 to 2022.
Last summer, Yoan Makondou signed a four-year contract with Monaco, for whom he played eight games in the EuroLeague and 35 in the LNB Pro A. He was part of the team that won the national championship title.
In the top European competition, he averaged 4.4 points and 2.7 rebounds, while in the national league, he posted 7.5 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
Makoundou also participated in the French national team’s preparations ahead of the World Cup, but in the end, he was replaced by the recovered Mathias Lessort. Before the start of this season, Saša Obradović decided not to register him for the championship, so parting ways was inevitable.
This summer, Buducnost has brought in as many as ten new players, so there’s a lot of work ahead for Petar Mijovic.
