Zadar secured their first win of the season in the ABA League, defeating Mornar with a score of 92-57.
The first quarter wasn’t of the highest quality. Zadar took an early 9-0 lead, and it took Mornar seven minutes and 38 seconds to score their first points. Barac’s team managed to put together two good plays, narrowing the gap to 9-4, but the home team led 14-6 after the first quarter.
Zadar continued to play significantly better on both ends of the court. The lead for Jusup’s team kept growing, reaching 31-13 at one point. Mornar tried to catch up to some extent by the end of the first half. However, the home team maintained control of the score and went into halftime with a 16-point lead.
Mornar attempted a comeback in the third quarter. By the middle of the third quarter, Barani had narrowed the gap to 13 points. However, from that point until the end of this period, it was all about Zadar. With excellent play on both ends of the court, the home team extended their lead to 25 points.
In the final ten minutes, there were no major excitements, and it all came down to finishing the job. Zadar calmly closed out the game and secured the victory.
Luka Bozic led Zadar to victory with 28 points, while on the other side, Nemanja Vranjes was the top scorer with 12 points.
Zadar’s next opponent will be Krka, while Mornar will travel to face Studentski centar as they seek their first win of the season.
