Zadar secured its sixth win of the season in the ABA League with an excellent performance, triumphing over FMP in Zeleznik by 92:77.
The first quarter was highly efficient. FMP initially had a four-point advantage, but the guests made a comeback and took a 21:19 lead. However, after ten minutes of play, the home team was ahead 26:23.
At the start of the second quarter, FMP had a nine-point lead. Zadar prevented the opponent from building a more significant lead. The guests managed to stay in the game, trailing by only four points at halftime.
Zadar opened the second half with an 11:3 run, securing a four-point lead. Stevan Mijovic tried to “awaken” his team with a timeout, but it wasn’t enough. The guests continued their excellent performance, building a nine-point lead. FMP attempted a comeback, but after the third quarter, they were trailing 70:62.
Zadar maintained their excellent play in the final quarter, quickly establishing a double-digit lead, indicating an impending victory. Midway through the last period, the guests gained a 17-point advantage, decisively settling the match and resolving any doubts about the winner.
Luka Bozic made history, recording his second triple-double of the season, becoming the first player in the league’s history with two such performances. He had 28 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists. Bojan Subotic led FMP with 16 points.
FMP remained at three wins and will face Mornar. Zadar, with six wins and losses each, will host Partizan in the next round.
