Zalgiris convincingly defeated Nevezis on their home court by 102:78 in the 29th round of the Lithuanian Basketball League.
Similar to the previous two games in the domestic championship, Andrea Trinchieri’s team settled the question of the winner after the first 10 minutes. At the end of the first quarter, Zalgiris had a significant lead of +17 (32-15), and the lead continued to grow throughout the game. The visiting team never managed to threaten, so Zalgiris comfortably secured their third consecutive win.
Demetre Rivers led Zalgiris to win with 23 points, while Brady Manek and Laurynas Birutis added 15 points each. At Nevezis, Amit Ebo played an incredible game and achieved a triple-double, but it wasn’t enough for his team to offer better resistance. Sean McNeil also had an excellent game with 21 points.
Zalgiris remains in first place with a record of 25-3, while Nevezis is only ninth with 8 wins and 20 losses.
In the second game of the day, Lietkabelis defeated Mazeikiai at home by 88:82.
The hosts were led to victory by Deividas Sirvydis with 17 points, while Gediminas Orelik added 16. Giedrius Staniulis played a great game for Mazeikiai with 28 points and 16 rebounds, while Kay Bruhnke contributed 16 as well.
