Partizan lost in the ABA League finals to Crvena Zvezda with an overall result of 3-0 in the series. Zeljko Obradovic experienced a “sweep” for the first time in 25 years.
Specifically, the Serbian coach suffered a 3-0 defeat in the finals for the first time since the 1998/1999 season when he was coaching Benetton. In that final, his team lost to the struggling giant Varese.
Since then until now, there hasn’t been an instance where one of his teams was defeated 3-0 in a series played to three wins.
This season, Zeljko Obradovic hasn’t yet managed to win a trophy. Partizan was defeated by Studentski centar in the ABA Super Cup final, and Crvena Zvezda emerged victorious in the Radivoj Korac Cup final, as well as in the regional league final. The Super League of Serbia is still in play.
