Zeljko Obradovic spoke at the press conference after the EuroLeague clash against Asvel, in which the black-and-white team emerged victorious.
From the very beginning, Partizan imposed themselves as the dominant force, showcasing quality and the desire to win at all costs. This ultimately happened with a score of 90:77. The black-and-white team now has a record of 10-8 after 18 rounds played.
Zeljko Obradovic expressed his satisfaction with how the team played and secured a win. He mentioned the challenges of playing in the last quarter due to another game in two days. He extended gratitude to the fans for creating an incredible atmosphere, emphasizing the concentration and utilization of the individual quality of his players.
Regarding a question about the atmosphere, the only foreign journalist at the press conference, visiting Belgrade for the first time, expressed enthusiasm:
‘The atmosphere is incredible. It’s like this every game for the last three years. The love we receive from the fans is something incredible and gives us a strong boost.”
Comparisons to the past season with Fenerbahce
“Comparisons to the past seasons with Fenerbahce are not appropriate. This is something entirely different, and I don’t like to make comparisons. We have 12 players, and three players are currently out of the team. In this rhythm, we don’t have time for training; it’s impossible. If I gave the players a day off after the Mornar game, on New Year’s, we were in the gym at 1 PM. We came, had a training session to prepare for the match against Asvel. The next day is already the preparation for Crvena Zvezda. There’s no training; details are being set.
Friday is again the day when we will talk about Krka, and only after that can we train. We need to find time for the players to have rest days. Of course, there are dips in performance, and teams with a richer roster can respond to these challenges much better.
I am extremely satisfied with what we have at the moment. Thanks to the management for bringing in another player. When everyone recovers, it will then be a sweet dilemma for me.”
