Partizan’s coach Zeljko Obradovic spoke after the game against Monaco in the EuroLeague‘s 12th round, aiming to achieve a positive outcome for his team and equalize the number of wins and losses, which they successfully did by defeating their opponent.
“I am very happy for another victory in a game that was very similar to the previous EuroLeague one. Congratulations to the team, and thanks to the fans,” Obradovic began and added:
“The game lasts for 40 minutes, and there are things that are crucial when deciding. It is clear at certain moments what we are doing, and that is something between me and my players. I cannot share that with anyone. Why would I disclose that information, what we wanted in the last attack or the last defense?”
About improvement in rebounding:
“Perhaps that is one of the crucial factors. We analyzed a lot, insisted on rebounding; they had nine offensive rebounds in the first half, in the second half, five. When you look at the statistics, they had more two-point and three-point attempts, but we had more free throws. In the end, they had more possessions than us.
The ratio of our turnovers and theirs, that’s where they gained an advantage. In the end, what matters is who scores. Looking at the minutes played, we come to the point that certain players were exceptionally burdened. It will be crucial for others to get involved. We certainly worked on rebounding, insist on it; every training, every timeout repeats the emphasis on going for rebounds.”
