Zvezdan Mitrovic, the experienced Montenegrin coach, has officially become the new head coach of Cedevita Olimpija, as confirmed by the club on social media.
After yet another disappointing season, in which they were easily defeated by the young team of Mega in the ABA League quarterfinals and managed only one win in 18 EuroCup games, the Slovenian club decided to make drastic changes.
For some time now, there have been talks that Zvezdan Mitrovic, whose last engagement was with Galatasaray, would spend the next season in Ljubljana, where he will try to form a team that will become a much bigger factor in both regional and European contexts.
Throughout his career, Mitrovic has led numerous clubs. In addition to Galatasaray, some of the clubs he has been the head coach of include Monaco, Buducnost, Asvel, Khimik, and Azovmash. He also served as the head coach of the Montenegro national team from 2017 to 2019.
