The Minnesota Timberwolves once again played a fantastic game against the Phoenix Suns, with Anthony Edwards continuing his impressive performances.
From the beginning of this NBA series, the outcome somewhat foreshadowed. The Phoenix Suns have been unable to find solutions for the defense of the third-placed team in the Western Conference since the first game. Everything relies on Kevin Durant, who can’t do it alone without some help from the team, at least someone.
It seemed like the games in front of their home fans might awaken the Phoenix Suns, but the Timberwolves already scored 34 points in the first quarter, showing that this would be another tough night for the home team. The guests went into halftime with a six-point lead without much difficulty.
The third quarter was crucial, and that’s where the game was decided. The Minnesota Timberwolves played much better defense, while their offense clicked brilliantly. Anthony Edwards danced on the court, not only scoring points but also creating excellent opportunities for his teammates and providing open looks at the basket. After 36 minutes of play, the guests had a 22-point lead and comfortably closed out the game with a final score of 109:122.
The outstanding Edwards led the winning team with 36 points and nine rebounds. Karl-Anthony Towns (18 points, 13 rebounds) and Rudy Gobert (19 points, 14 rebounds) were also excellent. For the Phoenix Suns, Bradley Beal scored 28 points, Kevin Durant had 25, and Devin Booker contributed 23 points.
The next game is scheduled for Sunday night/Monday morning at 04:30, and Minnesota Timberwolves lead with the 3-0.
