The Denver Nuggets have beaten the Los Angeles Lakers in the first game of the NBA play-offs with a score of 113:104.
The Lakers have entered this game very prepared and determined. Nikola Jokic did not have a single assist in the first quarter. Since that was the case, the Lakers have lead after 12 minutes 33:25.
Then, the guests from Los Angeles had an even better sequence. They were on fire at the beginning of the second quarter. They were up by 12 at one point, but the alarm bells started to ring in Denver. The host woke up and at the half it was 60:57 for the 17 time NBA Champions.
After the break, the defending champions completely took control of the game. Jamal Murray had woken up, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope hit four three-pointers in this part of the game. Their advantage only grew and it was 89:78 after three quarters in the Ball Arena.
The Lakers have tried to get back in to the game, but it was futile. Anthony Davis was pulling the offence, as much as he could, but at the end Nikola Jokic and co. had an answer for all of their attacks.
The Serbian center finished the game with 32 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists for the Denver Nuggets. He was followed by his ‘Robin,’ Jamal Murray, with 22 points and 10 assists. On the other side, Anthony Davis had 32 points and 14 rebounds, while LeBron James had 27 points.
The next game between this current NBA champion and the Lakers will be played during the night between Monday and Tuesday at 4:00 AM, CET.
